	¡Felices Fiestas! As we share a warm meal with our families this week, we are able to take a break from our busy lives and reflect on what is important to us. Note: We will be closed on December  24, 25, 31 and January 1. Wine OVNI (Objeto Volador No Identificado) Expect the unexpected! This week's new offering in our list of wines by the glass is "OVNI", Spanish for UFO. As the name suggests, this is quite a rarity: it is made from Pedro Ximénez grapes, which 99% of the times are used to make sweet wines. Not here: OVNI was created as an experiment to find out more about the personality of this delicious grape. Not only is the wine dry, but it is also aged in amphorae, under the same veil of "flor" that grows on the barrels of Fino Sherries. The shocking results bring aromas of dried white flowers, melted butter and well-aged cava, followed by lots of citrus in the palate.  The wine is a collaboration between the Andalusian bodega Perez Barquero, from Montilla-Moriles, and the most famous UFO hunters in Spain: Equipo Navazos.    2011 OVNI: $22.5 retail  * Remember: every day, from 4 to 5pm, come to Duende for our "Batalla del Vino" and drink any bottle in the restaurant list at retail prices. On Stage Steven Lugerner's CHIPS Monday, December 30  9pm |  $10   As a band leader, Lugerner has released multiple albums to critical acclaim -Narratives (2010) These Are The Words (2010) & Live at The Bunker (2012). His compositions have been described as "a textured, nearly seamless blend of composition and improvisation" by Francis Davis of The Village Voice  - while them New York Times calls him "an impeccably trained multi-reedist, with an emphasis on 'multi' - he plays clarinet, bass clarinet, oboe, English horn and flutes, along with saxophones..." Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Steven Lugerner is the product of a multicultural, artistically nurturing family. In his youth, Lugerner performed on clarinet, oboe & saxophone with college orchestras & professional pit orchestras while simultaneously organizing and performing local jazz performances. In 2006, Lugerner moved to New York City to attend The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music where he graduated with honors four years later.  Since relocating to Brooklyn, NY in 2010, Lugerner has maintained an active schedule recording & performing throughout the country.
